How does reglin compare to zantac?

  • Do these medicines work in the same way?

  • No, they are entirely different. Drugs.com says, "Reglan increases muscle contractions in upper digestive tract. This speeds up the rate at which the stomach empties into the intestines." Zantac prevents stomach acid from being produced.

If you wanted to take one or both, ask your doctor which would be better for you and they could probably write a prescription for you. Personally, I wouldn't take Zantac or any other acid-blockers because I know that you need stomach acid to digest food and many people don't get sufficient nutrition (namely the minerals and protein that are harder to digest) when they're on it... and it makes it almost impossible to digest a tablet if you take other pills. Good luck!
