Week 1...I found a staff puppy alone on a lead.
Week 2...A big black cat was sat on the grass out front. I was startled and it felt eerie. The cat was just looking straight up at me (but unusually didnt climb the ledge) i looked back 3 times and the last time it was gone.
Week 3...A black lost dog followed me home from the school run.
Symbolic meanings aside, there are a lot more abandoned animals in neighborhoods in general these days, due to the financial crisis, a lot of people who have been foreclosed on also can't take care of their animals anymore, and just abandon them instead of taking them to a shelter if they can't find a home for them, which is really sad, it's the least they could do to make an effort to get their pet adopted elsewhere. Cats aren't generally on leashes, they tend to just roam a neighborhood at will, so it's not always easy to tell if a cat is abandoned or not. Dogs on the other hand are supposed to be on leashes, if you see one out he is either a stray, or has gotten out of the yard. If you see stray dogs running around, you should call your local sheriff, who can put you in touch with animal control officers, and you can report the sighting, or stay with the dog if he seems ok and turn him in, somebody will come out to get it, and either track down the owner, or take it to a shelter if it doesn't have a collar.
Maybe its all just a coincidence?
