Hi, my 3 month old Sibe husky barks at me everytime i sit down in my living room to eat dinner. I get an earbashing for a good 5 mins before she decides to lay beneath my legs. I bark back sometimes to claim its mine, but she doesnt quit. Its the only time she ever barks at me. She wags her tail throughout though. Any ideas how i can stop this behaviour?
she does understand the word no, but it doesnt do me justice here.
Thanks all.he wants your food... spray him with a water bottle.lolI would just ignore her, don't even look at her. She wants your attention and hopefully a bite of your food. If her barking doesn't get her anywhere, she'll give it up in time.try ignoring her. even though it may me hard to do, you saying no or barking back, to her, is the same as playing along with what she is doing. I learned from doing this with my dog (he is food CRAZY and flips out when i have food, even if he has just been fed) I just ignor and ignor and ignor, eventually, he quit. He learned no matter what he would do, he was not getting any response. now he just sits and watches haha.
also, you could always put her in a serparate room until you are through eating.Smart dog , she knows you shouldn't be eating in the living room :))yeh i have a 4 month old husky to and when she yaps/barks it's deafening!!! try putting your food down...claping your hands and say 'NO' or 'HEY'....and startle her...if she doesn't quit put her on her side and put you fingers on her neck (like how cesar millan does) it really worked with my sibe..you must be firm...do it hard enough so she knows your the alpha but not soo hard that it even remotely hurts!
GOOD LUCK!!! :)Put her in another room while you eat, she wants your food or attention at this time. If you use a crate with her put her in it and put a blanket over it so she can't see you.
